I noticed the reminder for the Tuesday night net
notes the repeater being the 075 machine. I believe the 147.130 (+ offset, 107.2
PL) machine we were originally assiged to is back up (and was used last
week for the net). Question: do we use the 075 machine or the 130
machine?
Know you might be busy, Bob, so if I don't hear
from you I will hold the net on the 130 machine, with an announcement on the 075
machine approximately 5 minutes before net time.

New Procedures Committee folder

Hi, all!
I created a new folder, "Procedures Committee" to act as a central location for documents used to develop chapter communications plans and procedures. This folder currently has two subfolders: "Draft Documents" and "Reference". I've added two PDF files to the "Reference" subfolder that may be of interest. One is the City of Carlsbad basic emergency operating plan (EOP). This is an example of the format used by many of the communities in San Diego county. It also contains a summary of the hazard analysis Carlsbad performed as a part of developing this plan. In addition to the format, you may be interested in seeing what emergencies/disasters a local community expects and how they intend to deal with them. The second file contains some notes and ideas I recorded while reviewing the Orange County Chapter's communications plan. These are my initial opinions, and are presented in the spirit of generating some discussion about where we want to go with our plans and procedures. BTW, everyone is welcome to check out these documents. The more heads we have working on this project, the better the results will be! Thanks for looking... Jerry

WOIPL is a ARES member in Colorado who has put together an impressive amount of high quality training materials over the years. Much of his group's work has been incorporated into the ARRL AREC (Amateur Radio Emergency Communications) courses. When you go to the group's homepage at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ARC2_SDICC/ ,
along the left hand side of the page should be a blue box with a list of option
starting at the top with "Home".
Go to "Files". (you may have to log in)
There should be a folder entitled "Procedures Committee".
Open the folder, and look in the "Reference Folder".
If the above doesn't work, I'll tell you something else.

Meeting Saturday

Just a quick reminder the this Saturday 9am til 12pm is our monthly meeting. I understand the trailer shell is on site at Red Cross Headquarters so we should have an update on it's status. We will be looking for some updates from the committees and allow the committees to meet for an hour as well. Jerry AK6QJ has put together a great draft of our comm's plan, it's available on the group site, so take a look at it.
Ted will not be able to join us this Sat but Travis will be there to update us on all announcements from staff. I'm also looking for a couple of things as well. I will be out of town on business travel Mon and Tues of next week so I'm looking for someone to represent us at the RACES meeting which I believe is Monday night. I know there meeting was delayed due to the holiday and a retirement so it may only be a net checkin at 7:30 Monday night. I will get more information for Saturdays meeting. Also since I'm out of town I won't be able to conduct the net so I'm looking for a volunteer to run the net for us. Let me know if you can fill any of these needs.
