I have posted the lastest net roster and net assignments through mid-
March. Please let me know if there are any errors, and I will correct
them ASAP.

Some words about the RACES net. RACES does not hold a net on the
first Monday of each month, as this time conflicts with their general
meeting. In addition, RACES nets are not held on Mondays that are
also county holidays. I had forgotten about this Saturday when we put
together the schedule - I'll try to keep this in mind in the future.

Bob KG6RGI - I suspect that there will be no RACES net on February
19th (President's Day), but I have emailed Gerry at RACES to confirm
this.

Also, only the RCCT representative assigned on the schedule should
check into the RACES net as "Adam 3". Others wishing to check in are
encouraged to do so, but please wait until the end of the net when
RACES requests non-RACES folks to check in.

Hi, All!

I've posted five files that will be used in this coming Saturday's
training session. Files include:

- a tentative meeting agenda

- handouts of the slides we'll be using, and

- a draft net scripts/protocol for use during one of the group
exercises.

I would appreciate it if you could review this material and print out
the draft net scripts/protocol, and bring it with you on Saturday.
I'll have some copies of the net scripts with me, but it's hard to
gage just how many folks are going to show up.

Printing out the slide handouts are optional. I like to do it so I
have something to take notes on. YMMV.

Hi, All!

Thought I would pass along the following message. Personally, I try
to attend this training every year. Good info, especially if you
haven't attended one recently.

There are usually 2-4 training sessions per year, but the actual
number depends on the CDF schedule and demand. I'll be trying to
attend this or another early session, just in case there isn't one
later one.

If I hear of any more, I'll let you all know.

Valley Center CERT is going to be sponsoring a repeat of CDF
Battalion Chief Kevin O'Leary's Wildland fire safety training class
in Valley Center (last held in 2003 just before the firestorms).

It will be an evening session, as was the last one, at 7pm, Wednesday
March 14, at the Valley Center Lower Elementary School multi-purpose
room, 28751-L Cole Grade Rd ( the first stop light north of Valley
Center Rd on Cole Grade).

Hi, All!

A draft SOG for the Chapter Communications Room has been posted.

The final version of this document is intended to be used by
volunteers manning the Communications Room during all types and sizes
of responses. It's organization is designed to roughly follow the
normal sequence of events of activating, operating, and closing the
Communications Room during a disaster response operation.

It is by no means complete. For example:

- The table in 7.4.5 needs tweaking. There are probably better
choices than I have listed.

- In section 9.6, a companion document with sample net scripts will
have to be developed.

I would appreciate it if each of you would read it carefully from the
standpoint of someone who will actually be working in the
Communications Room. Does it give you the information you need to
operate? Is it clear enough? What information needs to be added? Any
comments and suggestions cheerfully accepted!
